Kabando wa Kabando, a former Mukurwe-ini MP, has admitted defeat in the Nyeri senatorial campaign. Kabando; who ran for the position on a Narc-Kenya party ticket, congratulated the election's winners.

The lawmaker who ran for the position on a Narc-Kenya party ticket thanked the election's winners in a social media post on his Twitter page.

He stated that their #NyeriFirst campaign focuses on pro-people policy issues: fundamental necessities equal fundamental rights. The vote has been cast. Now it's his turn to give in, so I do. Congratulations to all the winners! I continue to be actively interested in issues of public importance as always. He authored and said thank you to the Nyeri people.

Kabando was competing against Wahome Mwangi and Priscilla Nyokabi (Jubilee) (UDA) His setback followed another in the 2017 General Election, when Anthony Gathiaka Kiai; a political outsider at the time defeated Kabando for the MP seat representing Mukurwe-ini.
