Key presidential contenders face a mojar headache in the selection of their running mates for the 2022 elections with the elephant in the room being how to please the big communities and retain the small ones.
President Uhuru Kenyatta's exit from State House in 2022 has rendered his vote-rich Mount Kenya backyard a major focus point for running mate with leaders from the region angling themselves for the number two slot.
Deputy President William Ruto who has been enjoying support from the region is said to be keen on a running mate from Mount Kenya. His staunch supporter Mp Ndindi Nyoro has said DP position is not their priority.
"We from Mount Kenya know what we want, and we do not need anyone to go and negotiate anything for us. We have already negotiated with William Ruto and we are not negotiating on who will become Prime minister or who will become Deputy President, we are negotiating on how to revive our economy," said Ndindi Nyoro
