This is after the cabinet secretary for Interior Dr. Fred Matiang'i Speaking at the National Assembly’s Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security on Wednesday, September 1, accused the Deputy president of trying to get sympathy from the public over his security.
Through the Dps communication secretary David Munyonyi here is what the Dp said;
From the utterances attributed to Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, there is no evidence whatsoever that he understands or is interested in understanding the global constitutional or even local context of concerns about the security of the Deputy President,” Mugonyi said.
“Dr Matiang’i has abused public resources and the power of his office to score cheap political points in futile attempt to humiliate, disparage, denigrate and ridicule the person and the Office of the Deputy President for political propaganda,” he added.
“By singling out the Deputy President and casting adverse attention to the particulars of his security arrangements, the Cabinet Secretary discriminated against the office and the person of the Deputy President, potentially exposing him to further security threats,” he concluded.
