Kenyans have today camped on Honorable Babu Owino's social media pages following his recent post. The Embakasi East Member of Parliament today posted a childhood photo of him and his friends relaxing in Nyalenda slums. According to the vocal politician, his mother used to work extra hard in order to put food on the table. He added that his mother's efforts to fend for them was often unsuccessful as they went hungry for days.

Hon. Babu Owino who is also a close ally of both the Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta also took the chance to urge people to never give up hope no matter their situation. He reiterated that God is always trustworthy and has many ways of preparing people for different tasks in life.

“This is how it was, we were never brought up, we were left to grow in Nyalenda slums coz mum was looking for food which was only available on a probability of 1/10. You could think that life was unfair, unbearable but God was preparing us for the best. Never complain where you are, embrace it and always face up where the solution is. God in it,” Babu Owino posted on Facebook page.

The post sparked mixed reactions from Kenyans on social media platforms with most people urging him to look for the rest of the people in the childhood photo and help them. Others also expressed their disbelief in believing that the young boy in the photo is indeed Paul Ongili, aliased Babu Owino. Below are some of the reactions from social media users:

Sharma: Surprising I have seen many men go through such journey and at the pinnacle of their life they forget their humble beginning and resort to corruption, tribalism, abuses (publicly), rudeness, negative, role model, poor leadership, and thuggery just to name a few.

Mweu: Babu Owino your mother was a very hard working lady. Her child was shinning like those from the dynasty. Glory to God the boy was very bright in school and has transformed the family to a dynasty. Go go Babu Owino. We support you.

Deus: God can still put together the broken pieces of your life. It's not over yet! God himself has the power to bring you back to life and to mold you up to His taste. He will put together your shattered life, wash away your bruises with his blood and heal your wounds. You are not broken beyond repair! He will give you a new beginning and make you great again. Do not doubt Him.

Isaac: Take back to the Nyalenda community what God has given you finally. Find these old friends and if they are not there find their family and relatives. Give them something to make them feel that in deed there are always better days ahead. God bless you.
