Misappropriation and loss of substantial CDF funds is now a nightmare to an ODM member of parliament who also had represented Hon Raila Odinga in presidential elction petition of 2017 in the Apex court of Kenya.
Hon Atiende Amolo, MP for Rarieda, now risks being blocked from seeking another term in the office should the petition go through to the extend of pleading guilty.
According to Erick Otieno, Peter Agoro and George Bush, three voters who have to court with the petition, Hon Amolo is being accused of misusing and embezzling National Government Constituency Development fund owing to the report of the report of the Auditor-General that was released on 11th, February.
Additionally, Hon Amolo is also being sued for a suspious award of tender illegally in the construction of the Constituency adminstration block.
This petition by the three voters has been submitted to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and the Office of the Attorney General, Mr Kehara Kariuki.
Hon Atiende Amolo has always been vital in legal matters of ODM party leader Raila Odinga from the times of presidential election petition in the Supreme Court of Kenya to the just concluded BBI judgement where he also represented Odinga in the High Court, Court of Appeal and ultimately the Supreme Court.
