Reason Why Kuria's Candidate In Kiagu By-election Was Disqualified

Moses Kuria's candidate in the forthcoming Kiagu by-elections is kicked out by IEBC. The decision came after serious investigation concerning Chama Cha Kazi candidate. Milton Mwenda and Nathan Gitonga of National Ordinary People Empowerment Union Party.

The immediate press release by IEBC unveiled that the two aspirants did not follow rules ahead of by-elections.

The reports by IEBC release indicates that the two MCA aspirants in Kiagu did not vacate their offices seven(7) days after vacancy declaration in Kiagu ward.

Kiagu by-elections was planned to take place on 14 October 2021, with several political parties ligning up their candidates to take over the leadership with ten .months to nextgeneral polls.

However, IEBC elections rules requires aspirants to resign from their previous offices within seven days when vacancy is declared.

Unfortunately, Milton Mwenda of CCK and Nathan Gitonga di not follow that guideline only to be disqualified by the IEBC.

Kuria's candidate disqualification is a double tragedy to the fierce MP who is nursing injuries in hospital.

Going by matrices, Ruto's candidate is hugely boosted to win the mini polls with only six days remaining.
