‘Ground is Ruto, President is Raila’ – Kieleweke MP cites a briefing
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's ally alleges that her friend Joseph Mugwe reassured her that while most Kenyans are supporting Deputy President William Ruto's presidential bid at the moment, Raila will be the next president.
Gatundu North MP Wanjiku Kibe declared on her official Facebook account that she is well informed that the ground has turned allegiance to DP William Ruto over factors she did not identify, after being politically silent for weeks.
According to the briefing she received, Kibe, an ardent supporter of ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga and a member of the Kieleweke political faction, believes Raila Odinga is the most likely candidate to win the presidency.
"Good morning good people. I've been properly updated and briefed by my friend Joseph Mugwe that .....while I was away it was so decided that.....The Ground is Ruto and President is Raila! 😍. Tuendelee na muoyo huyo huyo wa Azimio la Umoja Kenya Moja," her post read in part.
Kibe, a first-time MP, has repeatedly stated that he will continue to support Odinga's Azimio La Umoja initiative, which entails consultative peacekeeping forums aimed at uniting Kenyans of all political stripes.
Odinga unveiled the Azimio la Umoja unity call in Nakuru on August 17, 2021, and has been touring the country since then, interacting with various groups of people to popularize it.
He has now denied that the initiative is part of his early efforts to convince Kenyans to vote for him in August of next year.
