Politicians Who Will Face Disqualifications, IEBC Tough Ruling

Elections are governed by the IEBC and therefore it is the body that is mandated to bring political sanity for political aspirants. The body under the chairmanship of Mr. Wafula Chebukati has had a rough time ever since it conducted the last elections. Despite having general elections once in every 5 years, the body has always had a beehive of activities unlike how most people would expect of them. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has recently gazetted guidelines to shape the August general elections. The gazette notice is not only addressing the aspirants but also their parties. If you are a politician or aspiring to be one, you will face disqualifications from IEBC if, your party fails to have unique identities and non plagiarised colors, should have unique symbols and acronyms.

For candidates, you will be disqualified if you remove or destroy in whatsoever manner political materials from your competitors. Offering any rewards in favor of one's political decision is also on the list as a qualification for being ruled out. Avoid hate speech, discrimination, abusive language, or any actions that can stir violence.

Your favorite politician may end up not being on the ballot box for such simple guidelines from the Electoral and Boundaries Commission. Let us embrace sober politics and when the 9th of August comes we are able to make a change through the good leaders that we shall have chosen. Register as a voter.Thank you
