Former Imenti Central MP dies

The former member of Parliament of Imenti Central, Mwiti, died while receiving treatment in a hospital in Nairobi. He retired from labor politics in 2017 and set foot in business. He served as a member of parliament from 2013 to 2017.

In 2015, Mwiti was accused of raping a woman in Nairobi. Mwitty suffers from diabetes. In 2015, Mwiti faced accusations of raping a woman in Nairobi, but denied it. Mwiti was accused of being with David Muchiri, a doctor accused by the police of being an accessory to a crime, and the complainant was involuntarily tested for HIV.

The case is still ongoing. In April this year, Mwiti requested that the case be heard at a public hearing, not after the Covid19 pandemic. Mwiti denied three counts of rape, intimidation and battery.

After Mwiti's death, Tigania West Councilor John Mutunga expressed his condolences to his family. "Mwiti is a dedicated leader who serves people very well," he said.
