Opinion: Can Hon. Cleophas Malala succeed the incumbent and be the next Kakamega governor?

Cleophas Malala the current Senator for Kakamega county will be in for a rude shock come next year in the general elections. The first time senator has become the noisy dog in western politics abusing and threatening his rivals or those who are not supporting Mudavadi's bid to be president. His attacks on ODM supremo Raila Odinga, Wiper leader Kalonzo and Kanu chairman Moi have put the vibrant leader in a tight spot where coming out of it won't be a walk in the park.

Hon. Malala should know that abusing his seniors in politics won't tilt the votes in his favour because Malala needs Raila more than how Raila needs him. The fanbase that Raila and ODM have in Kakamega will be the icing on the cake in the next general elections and whoever wants to be the governor must woo this group of people nicely or risk losing the elections to their rivals.

Kakamega County is not an ordinary county, this is a vast county with vibrant people of different communities and Malala's loud mouth won't help him at all. Unless Cleophas Malala changes his uncouth behaviour towards his opponents, he might watch the seat on 'VIUSASA.'
