The Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) secretary general Mr. Steven Kilonzo has joined United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party officially a head of 2022 general elections. Kilonzo Ruto's camp with an aim of vying for Kitui senatorial seat.
His main reason of joining UDA party was to use the opportunity to vie for Kitui county Senatorial seat. In 2017 general elections, Mr Kilonzo vied for the senatorial seat but lost it to the current senator Hon. Wambua something he claimed that it was because his party had lacked a presidential candidate on the ballot to boost its popularity in Kitui and Kenya at large. "My main interest is in Ukambani people who need developments which will be brought by the William Ruto if he becomes the president of Kenya. That is my main reason of joining UDA because Ruto will look at the common Mwananchi and solve their problems," said Kilonzo.
Other politicians who have so far joined UDA party recently include Kwale governor Salim Mvurya and Kirinyaga Women representative Purity Ngirici among others.
