Money For Hustlers: Amount Of Money Ruto Poured In Migori As Residents Cheered Him

The deputy president William Ruto was today on his maiden visit to Raila's political backyard, Migori county. He was welcomed like a king in a region widely perceived as an ODM party stronghold. In the 2017 elections, the Jubilee party garnered less than five percent of votes from this region while Raila garnered the majority. Ruto's visit today had created a lot of tension since hardly a week ago, the business mogul Jimmy Wanjigi was pelted with stones while trying to speak to residents of Migori in Awendo town.

However, as usual with DP's meetings in Mt Kenya and rift valley, there was a huge crowd ready to receive Ruto. After attending a church service in one of the SDA churches in Awendo, Ruto held a public rally accompanied by Migori Governor Okoth Obado. Here he was wildly welcomed as residents chanted his name in praise. In his Migori meeting, Ruto spent roughly over three million Kenya shillings.

First, the DP contributed 1 million for the construction of Awendo Central SDA church. He also gave 1.4 million to 48 Bodaboda groups. In addition, Ruto gave 500,000 to women in Awendo town as a sign of promoting hustlers. Ruto also randomly gave residents money on the streets as they cheered him.
