Fresh Woes For IEBC Vice Chair Cherera as Parliament Gives Her 24 Hours to Do This

Juliana Cherera, who is the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Vice Chairperson is facing intense pressure from the United Democratic Alliance party allied Members of Parliament to vacate her post.

Four petitions are being heard by the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee of Parliament where she has failed to appear in two sittings as per the reports that we have.

This morning, the Azimio allied Members of Parliament who are part of the committee failed to appear as well in protest of the process.

Juliana Cherera's lawyers requested for ten days for her legal team to go through all the available documents and file a response but this has been denied.

According to the available reliable reports that we have with us from the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee, Juliana Cherera has been given until tomorrow to respond.

JLAC committee has declined to grant the IEBC vice-chairperson Juliana Cherera ten days to prepare her defence against the petitions to oust her.

She has been allowed until tomorrow to do so as per the reports that we have with us from the committee.

Let us know your thoughts and opinions on this latest development in the comments section below this article.
