What Next for Senator Orengo? Oburu Odinga to go for the Siaya Senatorial Seat in 2022

The Siaya Senator James Orengo has now left Kenyans with more questions than answers after he publicly endorsed Raila Odinga’s brother Mr. Oburu Odinga for the Siaya Senatorial seat. Just what next for Orengo?

Orengo who is the current Siaya Senator did not mince his words when he stated that the person who is fit to take the seat is the EALA MP Oburu Odinga however he did not say where he plans to go next as 2022 general election gets closer.

The senator who was addressing a section of Siaya residents in Bondo Constituency maintained that he has all the reasons to support Oburu’s bid for the senatorial seat.

“Oburu has already spoken and I’ve heard him. I know the kind work that he done because even when things were very tough on our side, Oburu was with us even at Uhuru Park. I want you all to take a look at those photos and tell me if these people who now want these big positions were there. Oburu was there and he has always been there,” said Orengo.

Well, Orengo has not stated the seat that he will go for come 2022 however rumors has it that he may go for the gubernatorial seat.

This endorsement by the Siaya senator comes just a week after Doctor Oburu Odinga made his intention of vying for the senate seat clear while addressing a congregation at Alego Usonga constituency.

“I heard that a MCA from Uyoma wants me to go and vie for gubernatorial seat however I would like to tell him that my dream has always been the senate since 2013. I appreciate his concern but I will go for the senate,” said Doctor Oburu.

James Orengo further took that opportunity to drum up support for the ODM party in the region ahead of 2022 general election. He told the Bondo residents that ODM will only powerful if it is strengthened by electing more leaders through that party.
