After being accused of serious malfeasance during the announcement of the presidential results, Juliana Cherera, Francis Wanderi, and Julius Nyang'anya, vice chairs of the Independent Electrol and Boundary Commission, resigned. Only Irene Masit has remained in her electrol body despite being under pressure to step down. Koech contends that Cherera, Wanderi, and Nyang'anya's departure proves they committed the offense and should be held accountable for it.
He says that if they were not guilty of any offence, then they would have remained firm the way Masit is. He says that Irene Masit is the only one who is safe as she has ensured that the tribunal goes to the bottom of the issue at hand. "A commission of inquiry is the only safeguard to ensure we get to the bottom of the matters at issue and ensure that in future, lives of Kenyans are not put at risk by unscrupulous person," he argued. However he has pointed a figure to Cherera, Wanderi and Nyang'anya for resigning if they were right. Do you think the three resigned because they were guilty?
