Win For William Ruto As High Court Sends New Message

The High Court has dismissed a case seeking the removal of Deputy President William Ruto from office over alleged misconduct and absconding official duty.Justice Anthony Mrima on Thursday ruled that court has no authority to deal with the issues raised by the petitioner. 

Justice Mrima said removal from Office of the Deputy President is a Constitutional process provided for in the Constitution. He further said that the petition was a false start.

DP William Ruto says case filed by Mau Mau veteran seeking his removal from office is politically motivated towards individuals interest. Asking High court to dismiss it on grounds of jurisdiction. Arguing the power to impeachment him can only be done by the Parliament.

Deputy President William Ruto asks the High court to dismiss a case seeking his removal from office saying he can only be removed from office through impeachment by Parliament. "The suit offends the doctrine of separation of powers," he observed.
