Kenya Alliance (OKA) Coalition Woes Could Hand Deputy President William Ruto A Boost As 2022 Nears

The failure by the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) Coalition partners to settle on one person to fly the coalition's ticket could offer Deputy President William Ruti massive bonanza. A few days ago, the OKA principals met to receive briefings on the progress of coalition drafting.

The Deputy President has been telling the OKA principals to out their house in order and bring him their presidential candidate so that they can square it out in the field. Amani party leader Musalia Mudavadi, KANU party leader Gideon Moi, Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula and Wiper leader Musyoka have all declared that they would be on the ballot in the race to succeed President Kenyatta when his term ends in 2022.

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga fell out with his partners in NASA coalition in 2018 after Raila agreed to work with President Kenyatta. Wetangula has so far maintained silence as his co-principals in NASA exchange barbs on the death of NASA. In the coming weeks, there will be serious political developments in the country being witnessed.
