COTU boss Francis Atwoli has been named as the Luhya community spokesperson to negotiate for the region ahead of the 2022 general election. According to him, he will now negotiate with Raila Odinga to know of the stakes of the community moving into the 2022 general election.
Atwoli was elected by several leaders from the community who vowed to support him to ensure the community stakes in the next general election is taken care of by Raila Odinga. Atwoli is supposed to lead the Luhya community to support Raila Odinga ahead of the 2022 general election.
It's clear Atwoli will not negotiate anything with the deputy president William Ruto given he is already against him. The elevation of the COTU boss is just a confirmation that Raila Odinga chances in the region heighten as Ruto is slowly diminished.
However it's a matter of wait and see of what will unfold moving into the 2022 general election for clearly we live interesting times. It's clear as things stand Atwoli is part of the scheme of things who are looking forward to bring William Ruto down but as always time will tell.
