Africa politics

Lest we forget: Humble plea to Kenyans and our politicians.

Dear Kenyans and politicians at large, it's almost six months to the general elections and the political temperature is breaking new records every day. As Kenyans, we should exercise brother/sisterhood and we should not allow ourselves to be divided by our selfish politicians who have their own selfish agenda.

Every citizen has a right to vote and choose a political faction that he or she wants to associate with, and that is what democracy entails and we should embrace it. However, being in a certain political movement should not make you hate your brother or sister but we should co-exist peacefully as one nation.

What is happening currently around the country with different political leaders spreading hatred to their supporters to look at others with a third eye is not healthy at all. We should not go back to 2017, 2013, 2007, 1997, and 1992 as we will be erasing the successes we've had as a nation. If you go back to history most of us know what happened and we should not go back to those dark days in our country.

Relevant bodies tasked to protect Kenyans like the Kenya Police Service, Director of Public Prosecution, The Judiciary, NCIC, IPOA, EACC, KHRC etc should take their mandates seriously and make sure no Kenyan blood is spilled during this election period.

In a nut shell, elections will come and go but a lost life will never come back because the moment that precious life is gone, it's gone for good. Lest we forget where we've come from and where we are heading to then we will keep on blaming ourselves for not taking that important step.
