Deputy President William Ruto was on Friday flanked with a score of Tangatanga leaders including Kikuyu MP Hon Kimani Ichung'wah, Hon Nimrod Mbai, Hon Victor Munyaka, former Machakos senator Johnson Muthama, former Deputy Governor Jonathan Mueke, Kitui West MP aspirant Ben Muasya Mutiso among other UDA confidants for women empowerment program in Kabati, Kitui West.
The second in command injected financial help to more than 300 women groups that targets to benefit almost 5,000 members in boosting their respective businesses, development agenda and promote lifestyle of ordinary hustlers in the region.
Deputy President re-emphasized that the Constitution Amendment Bill (2020) popularly profiled as Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) which was thwarted by the High Court and Court of Appeal, was unnecessary and shouldn't be accosted huge attention at the height of the ravaging COVID-19. He insisted that the country should focus on creating as job opportunities as possible in the efforts of reducing the jobless bracket for 4 million youths.
"We should put our main focus on creating jobs to millions of youths across the country, impart financial help to ordinary small scale business owners and local traders and not pushing for Constitutional Amendment agenda that seeks to benefit a few individuals at the top" he said
At the same time, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wah who is DP Ruto's close associate revealed that the people of Mt Kenya who have allegedly embraced Bottom-up economic model are currently structuring ways to keep the Hustler narrative wheel rolling. He informed that the Central region electorates have started vigorous activities of mass sensitization and mobilization to woo more votes to Deputy President William Ruto's presidency.
"The people of Mt Kenya have already accepted hustler nation and they are currently leading sensitization and mobilization programs to woo more votes for Deputy President. I want to ask you people of Kitui, have also agreed to push this Hustler Nation wheel together with the people of Mt Kenya?" He said
Deputy President is expected to visit Baba's stronghold in Awendo, Migori county tomorrow where he will be hosted by Governor Okoth Obado.
