Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and his running mate Hon Martha Karua were today campaigning in Nyeri, a county thought to be a stronghold of Deputy President William Ruto.
Raila Odinga told the crowd how he stood with former President Mwai Kibaki in 2002 and made him the country's third president. He revealed that the journey had not been easy because Kibaki had been involved in an accident at the time.
Mwai Kibaki was a Nyeri Town resident, and Raila Odinga wants residents of this county to repay him by voting for him in the upcoming general election.
"We went to Othaya, Chania, and Nyeri the first time we came here with Hon Mwai Kibaki as president, and you called me Raila the brave leader. "I brought the flag to this county because Mzee Kibaki was injured during the campaign," said Hon Raila Odinga. "I am the one who campaigned for him in every part of the country when he was down until we won the elections." Pia mimi nataka mrudishe mkono kwa hayati mzee Kibaki niaba ya hayati mzee Kibaki "He continued.
