Atwoli Respond to News Saying He Has 'Fled' The Country Ahead Of Presidential Result announcement

Earlier today there were news circulating online that Francis Atwoli had Left the country after sensing defeat, however, has refuted the claims terming them fake.

He tweeted "Somebody using my old photo while arriving in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, five years ago". This comes at time IEBC is busy tallying presidential polls from all constituencies across the country.

Francis Atwoli, the COTU leader and one of Raila Odinga's most fervent supporters, appears to have won over residents in his backyard to the support Raila Odinga.

The trade unionist's home district of Khwisero in Kakamega County gave Raila 27,997 votes. William Ruto, the deputy president of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), received 5,201 votes in the same district.

Atwoli's competitor and leader of the ANC party, Musalia Mudavadi, is from Kakamega's neighbouring county of Vihiga.

The Cotu chief voted 83.6 percent for Azimio, whereas Mudavadi earned 768.8 percent of the vote in Mululu Primary School, where he cast his ballot. Results for Sabatia, the district where the ANC leader originates from, have not yet been released.
