Deputy President is expected to land in Kitui anytime from now. This is according to sources close to him who have already landed in the area to mark the very important meeting ahead of 2022. This is not the first time this week that the deputy president is visiting the area for a vote hunting mission on his 2022 bid.

Ruto is seen by many as a man who is keen a capturing the presidency through all means possible. His recent meetings in the region are a clear affirmation that his bid has been instigated by the bottom-up model which he continued to insist is the only solution for the nation.
It is still unclear what his agenda for the region is although he has met leaders from the region this past week and promised to ensure that water becomes his number one priority for the region once he takes over power as president of the Republic of Kenya.
