Why Governor Wangamati Has Been Summoned by Health Committee

Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati has been called by the Senate Committee on Health, to react to review inquiries on Covid-19 assets.

The Committee led by Senator Abdullahi Ali on Wednesday set out to bring Governor Wangamati who neglected to show up before it for the second time in succession.

Wangamati was welcomed by the Committee to re-show up before it on Tuesday after a bungled gathering on May 31 since his reactions and going with archives had not been gotten and surveyed by the Auditor-General's Office.

The advisory group blamed the lead representative for introducing 'silly' reasons and blameworthy of "treatment of the Senate with scorn."

Bungoma Senator, Moses Wetang'ula who showed up as a companion of the Committee said that the Senate can't take on a supporting role to the Council of Governors gatherings and memorial services that the Governor claimed to join in.

"We will execute the full degree of the law including the chance of approvals and fines which the Senate is at freedom to force," Wetang'ula said.

The Committee will be giving summons for Wangamati to show up before it actually upon the expiry of seven days, in the wake of looking for leave of the Speaker.

Wangamati hazards being captured or fined 500,000 shillings on the off chance that he neglects to show up before the panel.
