Former Kiambu county governor Honourable Ferdinand Waititu better known as Babayao has now reacted after he was appointed by President William Ruto to be a member of powerful Nairobi Rivers Commission.
Taking to his Twitter account on Monday morning, the firebrand politician who was impeached from office has now send a message to the Head of State and Government after being considered to be a commissioner.
According to Babayao, his appointment should not be taken for granted as he divulge that he is ready for the job.
"I take these opportunity to thank H.E. The president Hon. WSR and H.E. the Deputy president Hon. Riggy G for appointing me as a commissioner in Nairobi Rivers commission. We shall work hard together with other commissioners to make sure nairobi river waters as fit for human needs,"said Ferdinand Waititu.
President William Ruto in the gazette notice shared to the public made the appointments that included other members representing various entities.
“I, William Samoei Ruto, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Constitution and the Laws of the Republic of Kenya do establish the Nairobi Rivers Commission” reads the gazette notice.
The commission is tasked with various roles including protecting, restoring and beautification of all water bodies in the city.
