Before launching Kenya Kwanza Alliance Manifesto, the deputy president William Ruto was leading his team in holding county Economic Forums in various regions in Kenya.Ruto was seeking to discover and discuss the challenges and interests of each county before being addressed in his manifesto.
Ruto held the forums in the counties across the country in readiness for the August general election. Unfortunately, the deputy president didn't find enough time to carry out the activity in the four Counties in Raila's Nyanza backyard.
Ruto attended Kisii and Nyamira Counties economic forum but he didn't reach Homabay, Migori Kisumu and Siaya. However, the deputy had earlier toured the region for campaigns in February this year. During the campaign Ruto promised the people of the lakeside that he will lift their lives through his bottom up economic model when elected the President.
The reason why Ruto didn't hold economic forums in Homabay, Migori, Kisumu and Siaya before launching his manifesto is not known.Maybe the DP will find opportunity next time to engage with the people of that County to hear their problems.
