In the date that was released by the star newspaper, it placed the deputy president William Ruto ahead with 43% in the recent opinion polls slightly ahead of Raila Odinga who had 42%.

Kapseret member of Parliament who is also a close ally to the deputy president Oscar Sudi has now come out and responded to these results. According to him, he claims that they know that DP Ruto is leading with 58%.
"Deep state, you will not win on this one. How can you say it's a tight race yet we know it's 58%for Ruto against 37 for Raila." Oscar Sudi said.

This comes after the Kenya Kwanza brigade has been on the forefront in castigating the opinion polls claiming that they are run by deep state.
The two teams have intensified the campaigns across the country especially in the Mt Kenya region where it has alote of the voters.
