Nominee for the position of Secretary to the Cabinet Mercy Wanjau is the richest woman in President William Ruto's proposed Cabinet.
Secretary to the Cabinet nominee Mercy Wanjau has declared her net worth to be Ksh. 475.4 million.
Ms Wanjau explained that her properties which amount to about 80 per cent of her wealth are distributed in Nairobi, Laikipia and Kilifi counties and another residential apartment in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Born in 1972 in Meru, she is married and has two daughters.She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi and a Master of Laws degree from the University of Cape town, South Africa.
Mrs. Wanjau is a commercial lawyer and corporate executive who, for over 15 years now, has participated actively in the design and harmonization of ICT policy and regulation in Kenya, at the regional and international level.
In April 2020, she was appointed to chair the COVID-19 ICT Advisory Committee that coordinated ICT sector responses to the COVID-19 pandemic in Kenya.
