Kimilili Member of Parliament and President William Ruto`s Kenya Kwanza ally Hon. Didmus Barasa now say he will quit politics as from next week should his preferred candidate for the Bungoma Senatorial Position Hon. David Wafula Wakoli lose in the just concluded elections.
Hon. Barasa noted that the Fork Kenya Party under the leadership of the Speaker of the National Assembly Hon. Wetangula, adding that, victory is already known.
The legislator, asked those responsible to start organizing for the celebration, and getting the dressing code of the incoming senator, vowing to quit politics should the opposite happen.
“Thank you the people of Bungoma for peaceful senatorial by election. For Wafula Wakoli please pima suti ya swearing in. I will quit politics from next week if Hon. David Wafula Wakoli will be defeated,” he said.
The senatorial candidates, while finagling his campaigns in Bungoma, Maraka Ward in Webuye, noted that his counterpart competitors are accusing him of not being competent, adding that, he will defeat them in the coming elections so that they can accord him with the respect he so deserves.
He promised to be an influential leader who will lead in helping the Bungoma County youths secure jobs in the Kenya Kwanza government as soon as he gets into office, daring his competitors to bring it on.
On his end, Hon. Wetangula noted that, he picked on Wakoli to take over from him since he has a proven record of serving, having worked as a teacher-cum politician for some time.
