It has emerged that a top governor is in the final touches of his expensive house in Runda in what seems to be trying to prove to a Cabinet Secretary from his area that he is richer than him.
This follows a report by the Star newspaper that the unnamed Cabinet Secretary had bought around five acres of land in a posh estate where he was putting up an expensive mansion.
"It is emerging that the CS is in mutual competition with his governor who has also recently acquired land in Runda and now is putting the final touches on his castle."the Star newspaper reports.
Details have it that the governor's new house has got a huge two-storey gazebo and a water fountain decorated with precious gemstones which is a sign of opulence and luxury.
He is also said to have bought his expensive furniture from Asia with the Cabinet Secretary having also our purchased his furniture from abroad and were at the port of Mombasa awaiting release.
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission could be interested in knowing the sources of their funding with the county chief likely to fund himself in a tight grilling over the use of public funds.
