Situation Worsens for UDA's Top Leader as Another KKA Politician Supports Jubilee Governor in Nakuru

With only around two months to the August 9 General Election, serious emerging cracks in DP Ruto-led Kenya Kwanza Alliance threatens UDA's success in Nakuru County gubernatorial race. This follows rivalry among the DP William Ruto's allies which has signalled an imminent fallout within Kenya Kwanza and UDA party in Nakuru.

It begun with Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri who is defending his seat on a United Democratic Alliance party ticket. Kimani Ngunjiri shocked UDA supporters after he announced publicly that he supports Governor Lee Kinyanjui of Jubilee Party, which is an affiliate of Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition throwing Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika under the bus. Kihika is seeking Nakuru County governor seat using UDA ticket.

"Let us all campaign respecting each other's space and rights. In Nakuru, Lee is the answer and here in Kimani Ngunjiri is the answer," Bahati MP said on Madaraka Day.

After Ngunjiri announced in public that he supports Lee Kinyanjui for Nakuru County governorship, it has now emerged that another Kenya Kwanza politician identified as Daniel Kimani who is seeking the Nakuru Senate seat using a Ford Kenya party ticket has also weighed in supporting Jubilee's Lee Kinyanjui. This comes despite Ford Kenya being one of the major parties in the DP Ruto-led Kenya Kwanza Alliance. This has worsened the situation for Susan Kihika as cracks looms in Ruto's coalition.

"Elect leaders, not politicians. Elect leaders, not noisemakers. That leader is Lee Kinyanjui for governor and Daniel Kimani for Senate," said Daniel Kimani of Ford Kenya.

Despite Daniel Kimani and Susan Kihika having been at tending in the Kenya Kwanza Alliance rallies together, the two politicians are said not to see eye to eye over the Nakuru County United Democratic Alliance senate ticket. It emerges that Kimani left UDA and joined Ford Kenya weeks to UDA nominations over alleged favoritism towards a certain aspirant by senior UDA politicians in Nakuru.
