Tanzania to embrace new technology in the next elections.

Tanzania has been left behind in terms of technology application during the election process by other neighboring countries like Kenya. President Samia Suluhu Hassan has recently announced that Tanzania will join the technology front when it comes to general the next coming elections.

That the country need to start preparing to embrace ICT in the upcoming elections to ensure every citizen enjoys the right to participate in the democratic process like other citizens from other democratic nations.

According to her, many citizens are left out of the voting because of their different engagements on election day, this problem can be easily solved by the help of modern technology.

The rate of voting technology has been slow in Tanzania, especially after complains during the last general election that there were irregularities experienced during the whole process. During the last general election, the main opposition party Chadema through its chairman Freeman Mbowe decried interference with voter lists.

To avoid this allegation and complains new technology should be embrace. This will ensure election are free and fair .
