A First-Time Politician Taking Trans Nzoia County by Storm

Hon. Wechuli (Centre) mingling with residents of Kiminini Ward

The first time Member of County Assembly Candidate is already a firebrand. Born and raised in Mitoto, he attended Mitoto primary school for his  KCPE   and proceeded to St, Josephs Boys High School Kitale for secondary education. He graduated from the Technical University of Kenya with honors where he studied procurement and Supply Chain Management. Hon. Wechuli is currently serving as a deputy procurement officer at National Oil in Nairobi and also manages Mitoto Football Club.

He is an involved member of his community in development, outreach,  and youth empowerment projects as a member of the Trailblazers Youth for Change Initiative. He has gained practical experience in financial management, sustainability, and innovation.  He believes in constantly developing himself and others.  For Wechuli,  leadership is a process of social influence, which maximizes the efforts of others, towards the achievement of a common goal.

Many people presume that an ideal leader is someone charming, persuasive, diplomatic, and possesses leadership qualities.  Leaders should be able to create manifestos, plans, and actions they want to take. Then they seek to charm and persuade either the public, the parliament, senate, or county assembly to pass policies.  Once approved they seek to implement their plans, whether by deliberating it to talented people or pushing the right policies through the right avenues.

Wechuli has proved to be that kind of a leader. One resident of Kiminini Ward praised  Wechuli for his generosity and standing with their family during a difficult time. Wechuli had helped them to process and transfer the body of a loved one from the city mortuary to their village. Besides, he offered them his car with a full tank to use.  Another resident urged his fellow Kisii people to come together and support Wechuli because he is a visionary man.

It is largely believed that a  politician should be educated in history, not only have a basic knowledge about past historical events but also be informed about where the countries come from, what their older and latest developments are.  A good politician should be aware of laws, especially the constitution, and they should be able to make unpopular decisions if necessary.

One resident of Kiminini Ward believes that Hon. Wechuli is a great candidate for the coming general elections because he believes in sharing with people, he is a youth leader with a heart of uplifting others.  Hon. Wechuli has shown to be a passionate candidate and managed to support the needy without expectations or political score. Wechuli has time to listen to the challenges of the affected residents of Kiminini.
