His frequent visit to Kisii County is seen as a way of campaigning for the Gubernatorial election set to take place next year. The current Kisii Governor, James Ongwae is in his second term at the helm of the County and various candidates have started showing interest for the seat.
Popular Kisii blogger, Abuga Makori has revealed that Hon. Simba Arati is in trouble for camping in Kisii County and abandoning his constituency. He has alleged that Dagoretti North residents want to recall Hon. Simba Arati as their MP.
@abuga_makori My country, Kenya! Dagoretti North residents now want to recall their MP Simba Arati for "abandoning his duties and moving to Kisii to contest for gubernatorial seat". Don't forget Arati is serving his second get. Recalling an MP is quite difficult. https://t.co/sSTYja3eud
The Dagoretti North residents Association have written to National Assembly Speaker, Justin Muturi asking to recall Hon. Simba Arati as their MP for abandoning his Constituency duties and campaigning in Kisii County. Hon. Simba Arati is a vocal ally of Raila Odinga and ODM Party and it would be a big blow if his constituents manage to remove him as their MP.
