Outgoing governors have already started planning for where they will land next, when their terms come to an end in 2022.
He wants to go back to where it all started. Before being elected the Busia County boss in 2013, he served for two terms as the now defunct Amagoro Constituency.
The expansive constituency was split into two - Teso North and Teso South. Ojaamong is officially in the race to replace Teso South MP Geoffery Omuse.
His bid has now been endorsed by Amukura Central opinion leaders.
Speaking during a meeting at the residence of ODM party youth leader James Anyango, Ojaamong said his people need better representation.
"I will fight for my people's interests the way I did by pushing for Sh30 million through the stimulus program for the construction of the Amukura District headquaters," said the outgoing County Chief.
On his part, Anyango urged Teso South residents not to 'gamble' with their votes by relecting Omuse.
