Both Kenya Kwanza and Azimio la Umoja's presidential candidates, William Ruto and Raila Odinga, have urged their supporters in strongholds to vote only for candidates in their respective political parties. Both leaders want the voters to elect leaders, starting from the MCAs to the president from one party. However, this has created divisions in Kenya Kwanza alliances as small political parties are ignored.
The Service Party leader Mwangi Kiunjuri has asked Kenya Kwanza leaders to stop creating unnecessary infighting. kiunjuri stated that all political parties in the coalition were equal, and they should be allowed to conduct their business freely.
"Because Azimio is a legitimate adversary, we ought to direct our time, energy, and concentration toward overcoming this challenge rather than engaging in combat with one another. The proverb goes that a divided house is at risk of falling apart, "explained Kiunjuri.
He went on to say that the time for zoning had long since passed and ridiculed the viewpoints of those who believed that some districts were set aside for specific parties or individuals. He stated that the TSP would begin independent campaigning for Dr. Ruto.
