The ICT CS, Eliud Owalo has shade some light into why huduma namba project didn't succeed. In an interview with one of the top media houses in the country, CS Owalo noted that the project had a good motive. According to the CS, Huduma namba project aimed at ensuring Kenyans have a digital identity that could simplify transactions between the government and the public in provision of services.
He keenly noted that the Huduma Namba project failed because there was inadequate sensitization to the public hence it created room for false speculations and suspicions. The project was launched in 2018 but it didn't see the light of the day as it was opposed. He also attributed the project's failure to poor timing, according to him Uhuru's project launched the project at a time when political temperatures were beginning to rise.
The Huduma Number Project failed after the court declared it's roll out illegal.
