According to a statement issued by State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed, the president will launch affordable housing project in the county just as he promised during his first tour.

"Tommorow the president will launch the first phase of 50000 affordable housing programme for Homabay county" read part of the statement that was released from the Kisumu State Lodge.

According to the State House Spokesperson, the project will cover major towns within the county. These are Mbita in Suba North constituency, Oyugis in Kasipul constituency, and Kendubay in Rachuonyo North constituency.

"The project is expected not to only alleviate the housing deficit in the county but also significantly boost the local economy. The project will ultimately cover major town-Oyugis, Kendu bay, and Mbita" the statement by the State House Spokesperson added.

This comes just days after Homabay county governor Gladys Wanga signed a charter that elevated Kendubay, Ndhiwa, Mbita, and Oyugis to municipalities. The three joined Homabay town which had been the only Municipality in the county.

With this Ruto's mega project, the towns will definitely realize rapid growth as they will now attract more investors and dwellers.

Apart from the launch of the affordable housing project the president is also expected to launch many other projects including the commissioning of Homabay Municipal market which its construction was just finished recently.
