"I Support Ruto Because I Fear My Late Dad's Curse" Kang'ata Opens Up On His Father Last Words

Murang'a Senator Irungu Kang'ata.

Murang'a senator, Irungu Kang'ata, is one of Mt Kenya leaders who strongly support William Ruto in his quest to become the next president of Kenya. Kang'ata made his stand known after he was removed from his seat of the Senate majority whip.

The senator, who is now eyeing for the Murang'a gubernatorial seat in 2022, has come out to disclose a conversation he held with his father before he died.

Speaking during a political interview with Kameme TV on Monday morning, Kang'ata said that his father told him to support Ruto's presidency in 2022. The senator added that going against his father's wish would lead him to a curse.

"The deputy president is a person who I hold very dearly in my heart. He is my personal friend and a close friend of my family. He visited my late father when he was ailing and from there he became his friend too," alluded Kang'ata.

"I remember very well the words of my Dad before he left us. He told me that if God allows me to get to 2022, I should support Ruto for the presidential seat. That's why I'm a strong defender of Ruto. I can't deviate from my father's words because I can get cursed," added the senator. Click here to watch video (Watch From 49 Min).

The senator also quashed his competitors who have been attacking the deputy president for endorsing him for the Murang'a seat.

"I don't understand why my competitors feel threatened when Ruto says he has confidence in me. They should come out from the bushes and declare their stand. If they are in UDA they should start warming up for the nominations which I believe will be free and fair. Otherwise, they can also go for endorsements from Raila Odinga and come to the ground with tibim and tialala slogans. I have no problem with that, Murang'a people will decide,"noted the senator.
