Deputy president William Ruto did the unexpected today and brought on one podium Kirinyaga county political rivals governor Anne Waiguru and women representative Purity Ngirici as he visited the county.
Despite the growing animosity between the supporters of the two iron ladies who are both inside his United Democratic Alliance (UDA),Ruto managed to give each one a chance to address the crowd.
From the reactions portrayed by the cheerful crowd it was evident by the look on his face that he was really shocked at the popularity of both ladies who are eyeing the governship through UDA ticket as everyone had a promising number of followers.
Majority of onlookers expected chaos to erupt between the supporters of Ngirici and Waiguru but everything fell into place with everyone addressing the gathering harmoniously.
Waiguru being the latest entrant in UDA has been receiving numerous attacks from Ngirici's camp who blame her of riding on a party the legislator invested so much to its success in Kirinyaga county.
As we head towards next year general elections, they will be forced to go through UDA party nominations to determine who will be the gubernatorial flag bearer of the party in Kirinyaga.
