Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has surprised his opponents in the latest opinion poll carried out in Mombasa county. Sonko recently has had a lot of saga, lately a woman has taken him to court demanding to be paid almost half a million over allegations that they sired a child with him. Sonko is also facing other charges in High court that can disqualify him from vying for the top seat in Mombasa county.
Despite all that is happening, Sonko is the most preferred candidate to win the elections in Mombasa as the governor. Sonko leads in the latest opinion poll with 34.6% followed by Nassir Abdulswamad with 27.1% and the third place comes Hassan Omar with 26.3%.
This is good news to Sonko who is fighting to become governor having impeached as Nairobi governor during his reign over the capital city.
