A group of Raila allies, led by Siaya county Governor James Orengo and MP Opiyo Wandayi, have threatened to expel some of the party's leaders, raising the possibility of trouble in Raila Odinga's ODM party.
This was after the two, who were speaking at the funeral of Mrs. Rosa Athieno Amoth at Pap Boro village in the Alego Usonga constituency, asked a group of ODM leaders who are fighting Raila Odinga to leave and start their own party.
The two cautioned that small-scale attacks on the ODM leadership must stop, and they added that those seeking government favor must treat others with respect.
We will not permit a few individuals to undermine him, you either respect Raila as the kingpin of the region or ship out and form your own party." Orengo said.
He also asked the leadership of the national government to respect Raila and other national leaders and said that both levels of government needed to work together and cooperate.
They stated that all ODM leaders from the region ought to respect Raila and that there is no political vacuum in Nyanza. However, they did not name anyone.
