Chirasha wrote a letter to the county secretary which was copied to governor Wycliffe Wangamati on March 17, 2021 that he would be out of office from March 18 -24.
In the letter, the renowned combative and fearless CECM suggested his water and environment counterpart Renson Makheti to hold brief until he returns.
In the same letter he didn't state the reasons for his absence from office nor where he was heading to.
Chirasha who is a known defender of the county government on social media as of late gone silent.
His silence is worrying considering that he has been defending the current and furthermore highlighting its achievement since they took power unseating the current senate speaker Ken Lusaka in 2017.
A source at the county government said that Chirasha might have been frustrated by Wangamati's plans to endorse health chief officer Patrick Wandili.
Chirasha is said to have been annoyed when Wandili was picked to lead other ministers and chief officers during the fundraising for the late Mathew Namunwa the former principal of St.Mary's Kibabii boys who had been transferred to Kisii county.
The funds drive was held at a Kimilili hotel where Chirasha who expected the group spokesperson was by passed and he read insubordination.
The cec took to his social media venting his frustration in a post he later deleted.
So far nobody in the Bungoma county government has come out to give a reason why he wrote a letter and if it is procedural or not leaving room for speculation by the public.
