William Samoei Ruto suffers a blow in his first month as the President of the Republic of Kenya. This comes after a section of Nairobi people are planning to hold mass demonstrations within the city following the high cost of living. Led by their leader Alvin Okoth, the Bunge La Mwananchi group are set to assert pressure on President Ruto till he lowers the prices of fuel and floor. Further, the group wants Dr. Ruto to lower the prices of all essential commodities.
"Mr President, if you will not reduce the price of Unga and fuel, if you will not address the issue of (electricity) tokens and mama mboga, we will be on the streets on Monday,” vowed Mr. Alvin Okoth.
While addressing the media today on Monday 3rd October 2022, Okoth urged the President to walk the talk and deliver what he promised during campaigns. He reminded Ruto that he should serve Kenyans equally irrespective of those voted for him.
"People have moved on. Our concern is that you should serve all Kenyans without considering the regions, tribes, or counties. If you love Nyanza residents as you said. You took all the good ministries to Mt Kenya region, and Rift Valley,” said Alvin.
