Kirinyaga county is among the three counties that gave women opportunity to serve as governor in 2017 gwneral elections alongside Bomet who gave the late Joyce Laboso and Kitui which is heade by Charity Ngilu. In 2022 women have remained at the forefront in Kirinyaga gubernatorial race between current governor Ann Waiguru, women representative Wangui Ngirici and Martha Karua.
Early Wangui Ngirici was the one who led UDA's campaigns before governor Waiguru ditched handshake team to join UDA hence attracting infights within the party, the women representative is also on record regreting the resources she has used to popularize the party in the county something that made many predict that she was on her way out of the party.
Today evening photos showing Wangui Ngirici wearing Jupilee attires alongside Nairobi governor Ann Kanunu has surfaced online something that has left many Kenyans guessing that she is on her way back to Jupilee party.
