Vihiga county senator Hon Godfrey Osotsi is arguing that a recent decision by president William Ruto concerning his deputy Rigathi Gachagua is not only unconstitutional but illegal, null and void. In an interview with NTV on Thursday night, the senator argues that the president has allegedly Started ignoring the law that he swore to protect and promote.
According to him, the decision by president William Ruto to assign duties to deputy president Rigathi Gachagua is unconstitutional because the constitution has already given functions to the office of the deputy president.
He argues that the DP can be called upon to do any of the roles that the president can do and assigning him roles in a particular ministry, as has happened in the ministry of agriculture, goes against the constitution.

"President Ruto's executive order assigning Gachagua and Mudavadi roles is illegal and unconstitutional. The deputy president Rigathi Gachagua is the president's assistant and is supposed to help carry out the president's functions," he said
