PDU Charged With Responsibility of Government Communication

With the goal of solidifying President Uhuru Kenyatta's Big Four Agenda, the administration has made various modifications to its public communication strategy inside State entities.

The Presidential Delivery Unit (PDU) and the Vision 2030 Secretariat will now be in charge of government communication on the Big Four Agenda and Vision 2030 initiatives, according to the new adjustments.

The Head of Public Service, Joseph Kinyua, urged all government departments to channel communications on the Big Four agenda and Vision 2030 to the two communication units before disseminating the material to the public in a circular dated August 24, 2021.

“All advertisements and public communications shall be edited, curated, and compartmentalized under the appropriate Kenya Vision 2030, and Big Four Agenda by the Vision 2030 Secretariat and the Presidential Delivery Unit for subsequent dissemination by the government spokesman to ensure efficiency and appropriate content referencing,”stated the head of Public Service.

The PDU and the Vision 2030 Secretariat would be in charge of auditing all public entities every three months under the new regulation.

According to Kinyua, this step is intended to expedite the completion of the President's legacy projects.

All government agencies will be required to submit quarterly updates on the status of Vision 2030 and the Big Four programs in respective institutions under the new directive.

Lastly the body will be required to submit quarterly reports to the two communication units as a way to accomplish it's objectives.
