The 2022 and the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) politics are gaining weight each and every moment. ODM party leader Raila Odinga and his close allies are currently on a three day tour of Turkana county with an aim of popularizing the BBI referendum.
The BBI politics has led to political rifts in the nation with others supporting it and others who are believed to be close allies of DP Ruto claiming that it is a waste of country's resources.
The deputy president and his lieutenants have instead resorted to an empowerment programs aiming at lifting the living conditions of the youth by providing with the wheelbarrow under their movement dubbed 'Hustler Nation'.
However, the Embakasi member of parliament Hon. Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino during their BBI campaigns in Turkana county this afternoon told off the deputy president to start distributing lories and trailers to the people instead of wheelbarrows. He urged the Turkana county residents to reject the wheelbarrow narrative and instead fully support BBI because it would increase the allocation of funds to the county governments which will in turn better their lives.
"As pastoralist community, you cannot transport your cows to the market using a wheelbarrow, you can only use a trailer or a lory to do that," said Babu Owino.William Ruto has been regarded as one of the forefront critics of the BBI referendum and has always viewed it as one of the ways to intimidate his 2022 presidential ambition.
