When it comes to matters engaging in handshakes, Kenyan leaders and their rivals have been known for doing their best making it possible for them to settle their standing differences. A good example is when the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga decided to come to terms with President Uhuru Kenyatta which in turn led to an immense realization of political peace and stability in the entire country.

Today, another mega handshake has been witnessed in Kisii County involving two long-term foes who are the ODM party leader Raila Odinga and the Cabinet Secretary for Interior Fred Matiang'i. This is indeed good news to Kenyans who have been wondering why the two leaders were not seeing eye to eye in the previous years.

It should be remembered that these two leaders fell out in each other's favor after Matiang'i made it rough for Raila to engage in peaceful demonstrations after the 2017 general elections. A lot happened such as launching of tear gas to various meetings that the ODM leader together with his allies were holding in various parts of the country.

After today's event that has seen them hug each in a comfortable manner, it is now clear that they will be able to work together without any difficulties in any manner whatsoever. It would also mean that the two will be able to convene many other incoming meetings because everything is now good for all of them.

One important thing all Kenyan leaders should learn from the move that has been taken by Matiang'i and Raila is that they should not make any attempts to hold grudges but ensure they forgive those who have wronged them so that life can move on smoothly.

Encouraging handshakes in the country will also play a big role in eliminating conflicts so that all leaders drawn from all parts of the country come together so that they work towards improving economic development in most areas.
