Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe has taken a swipe on Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and his Tangatanga team demanding them to come out clear on why they are opposing the Building Bridges Initiative.
Speaking in an interview with Citizen TV, David Muarathe has said that there is no need for the Tangatanga team to keep on opposing the Building Bridges Initiative wanting the team of Legislators allied to the Deputy President to come out clear on why they are opposing the BBI.
According to David Murathe, he has rubbished claims that the Members of County Assembly were bribed to pass the BBI bill stating that MCAs know why they are voting.
"Murkomen needs to come out clear on what it is in BBI is wrong, contentious…Why are the rallies they are holding anti-BBI? MCAs know why they are voting, don’t say they are doing so for personal interest," Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe has said.
However, despite David Murathe's statements, Kipchumba Murkomen has responded stating that even those counties that are passing the BBI are doing it because they considered the interests that affect the assemblies and their counties.
"I believe the 6 counties who passed BBI have done so because they considered the interests that affect the assemblies and their counties…The voting is part of a constitutional process and no one is right or wrong based on how they voted," Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has stated.
